This is a killer instrumental country LP pairing guitar legend James Burton, best known for his work with Elvis Presley’s “TCB” band, with influential steel guitarist Ralph Mooney. Burton splits his time between acoustic guitar and his signature telecaster, even working in a wah-wah pedal. Mooney’s playing is wonderful and a perfect compliment to Burton, showing a lot of range throughout the tightly arranged tunes.
The cover has “FREE” punched out in the upper right hand corner, so I believe it’s a promo pressing. It’s also in mono–I’m not sure if that’s more rare or not. Regardless, it sounds great and I really enjoy the music. (Details: Capitol T 2872 mono/rainbow label)
