Cannonball Adderley with Milt Jackson — Things Are Getting Better

Cannonball Adderley paired with Milt Jackson for this October 1958 session and are joined by an all-star rhythm section of Wynton Kelly, Percy Heath, and Art Blakey.  The results were as good and you’d imagine, led by Adderley’s alto sounding as soulful as ever.  I also (no surprise) really enjoyed the Heath/Blakey team, and I believe this is the first time I’ve heard them together.

This is an original stereo pressing on Riverside with the black label.  The cover is in excellent shape and the vinyl looks nice glossy, but still has some pops and clicks–sometimes that’s the way it goes.  I’ll try cleaning it a second time to see if it improves.
