Cannonball Adderley Quintet — At the Lighthouse

It hasn’t let up at all…I can’t listen to enough Cannonball Adderley, and this one is a favorite.  It’s also clear that I’m not the only one spinning these records a lot. Most every one I’ve found so far has been played quite a bit, including this one.  Fortunately, it still sounds good to me despite some surface noise and soft pops and tics.  I’ll find some cleaner copies of these classics eventually…the hunt continues…

This is a first mono pressing on Riverside.  The band is made up of Cannonball (as), Nat Adderley (tp), Victor Feldman (p), Sam Jones (bs), and Louis Hayes (dr)–and as always, it’s excellent.
